Who We Are
ByGeorge Press is owned and operated by Elizabeth Johnson, a Charleston-based graphic designer with more than 10 years of experience in the industry, and her creative muse, George, a cavapoo with more than 7 years of experience in the field of enthusiasm.
Elizabeth earned her degree in graphic design from The New School’s Parsons School of Design in New York, NY. After working as an art director and designer for various magazines including House Beautiful, GQ, and Garden & Gun, Elizabeth found her calling as the lead designer of all custom wedding invites and day-of papers at a local wedding boutique in Charleston.
Inspired by George’s passion for people, Elizabeth decided to follow her own passion for print in 2018. So, with a 1600-pound 1903 Chandler and Price Letterpress, a 600-pound guillotine from 1897, and a 16-pound furry shop boy in tow, Elizabeth launched ByGeorge and hasn’t looked back.
